Hugo's
Lethbridge - Hugo's Lounge - September 29 2001
Taped: partialy video taped
Other Bands: Nick..I forget his last name, The Holics
Playlist: Modified To Fit, Waves All Around, All That You Dream, Deathbed Fantasies, Exit To The Park, Ripe, Fail Me, In The Mouth A Desert, Shining Statistic, Nurture, Sidewalk, 30 Hours, Sadier, Natural Grace (Acoustic Jeff), On Fire (Acoustic Jeff), Another Day (Acoustic Jeff), Afternoon (Acoustic John), In A Different Place (Acoustic John)
Long show. I missed the first half of Nick. He had a drum machine/sampler?, and big keyboard, and a Casio SK-1 keyboard (just like mine). He played sort of ambient keyboard sounds, it was really nice. Then the Holics came on, with Moukhi on Guitar and vocals, and a guy from Tokyo who's name I forget doing bass and vocals. And I don't know the drummer. I don't know anything, except that they were really good and I hope they keep playing together. Then we went on, and the sound quality was really good thanks to Quint. Everything was going fine till I broke my G at the end of Exit. Only at shows. So, I quickly put a new string on. We continued with a bunch more songs, then took a break. Then I did some acoustic numbers. I forgot the last half of Natural Grace ("I stumble here.."), and was pretty shaky vocally on it and On Fire. I tried to channel the spirit of Lou Barlow. Another Day went fairly well. Then John did 2 acoustic songs, using my guitar. It was a good experience. Then, finally, we finished off with 4 more band songs, throwing 30 Hrs. in at the last second. We made some beautiful noise at the end of Sadier. Good good show. Hugos is great. Rock.
