Favour at CKXU.

This Saturday December 2 between 9pm and midnight mountain time we are dropping by CKXU to talk about our up coming show.

Hopefully we will get to play some Guided By Voices and Favour. We won't push our luck though ;)
If you live in the Lethbridge area you can listen at 88.3FM or if you live elsewhere you can listen at www.ckxu.com.

Life By Stereo and Girl O'clock are both excellent shows. Check them out every Saturday night on CKXU!

Next Friday December 8th we are playing a full set of Guided By Voices songs at the Slice in Lethbridge. Paul and Quint will be joining us on stage and we will be swapping instruments often. We are going by the name Striped White Jets in honour of our heroes from Dayton Ohio. Darby and Joan will also be playing.

Square Waves

What the hell has been going on with the favours? Ryan moved back to Lethbridge, they played a few shows, and then they disappeared!
Side projects. They always get in the way don't they.
Jeff and Ryan have been rehearsing and playing a few shows with Patrick and Paul as the Square Waves. Yes the same Paul that played with Favour back in the glory days of 2001. Anyway you can check out the Square Waves on some strange new site called Myspace. I heard that site is popular with the kids these days.
John started up the Forever again with Deadbeats Greg and Cale. As always they will be playing all over place and freaking the shit out of everyone with their own brand of garage rock! They are on that Myspace thing too.
We have moved into our new practice space that we share with rock stars Atrophy Manuscript and will be sharing our output here and on the Favour Myspace machine.
See you soon!

Show Diary: Tongue n' Groove - March 25 2006 - SoyCaptain/Darby&Joan

Lethbridge - Tongue N' Groove - March 25 2006
Taped:
To digital 8-Track (2 Live mics) by Quint
Other Bands: Soy Captain, The Darby And Joan Club
Playlist: Blame It On The Old School, Upstairs, The Hardest Part, Ashes, Eventually, Ripe, Yr. Mistakes, Deathbed Fantasies,
Shining Statistic, Had It All Worked Out

Good show, better than the last. Wasn't as many people as the last show, but it was still a full house. Soy Captain, which is
Mitz, Emily and a guy named Aaron, were pretty wicked. It was poppy and really good. Emily has great voice too. Mitz is awesome.
We made a few mistakes but nothing that bad. Ryan and John yelled "Deathbed" during the "loud" part of Deathbed Fantasies.
This is really the first time Ryan & John have done some singing for Favour. It was pretty cool. We raised
Upstairs from the dead and people seemed to like it. Plus The Hardest Part made it's debut and it sounded pretty good.
Darby And Joan played a good set too. It was their CD Release party, and Lorne gave me a copy. I chatted with P-bone and
Jon from Atrophy Manuscript. Apparently he likes Seam. Nice fellow. Good show.

Tongue n' Groove with Beginning of the End

Lethbridge - Tongue N' Groove - January 27 2006
Taped: Video Taped
Other Bands: Beginning Of The End
Playlist: Had It All Worked Out, Yr Mistakes, Ripe, Nervous Laughing Stock, Conflicting, Deathbed Fantasies,
Ashes, Modified To Fit, Blame It On The Old School. Plus: Mildred Pierce and an awful version of 30 Hours

The Return of the Favour. A mostly good show. The sound was quite good, I could hear my vocals really well. Quint is awesome
for setting up the microphones. Quite busy. I knew tons of people. People from work too, which was different, but really good.
All went well, some mistakes on Old School, and our Mildred Pierce was too fast, and our 30 Hours was a disaster. It was
the premiere of Old School and I think it's a great song. You can almost dance to it. Almost.
Jeff from Jil and his 2 piece band was next. He played bass, and the other guy Dale plays Drums. The bass was mostly
distorted and had a wicked full sound. I spoke with the drummer later and he said they've made a bunch of recordings, and
that he is a fan of Jason Loewenstein of Sebadoh. Later many people came back to my house, but no Ryan! Ryan, where were you?
Also, the show was filmed thanks to Dusty and another guy I never spoke too. We'll see how it turned out.
